It was founded in 1856. Shimogamo Saryo is a Japanese restaurant serving Kyoto cuisine and tea kaiseki right next to Shimogamo Shrine, which has been designated as a World Cultural Heritage Site. We cherish the tradition and essence of Kyoto cuisine, discern what will change and what will not, and offer innovative dishes that match the times.   This sweet combines nuts, small dried fish, dried fruits and powdered sansho pepper. It goes well with alcohol.

  This is a popular side dish made by cooking dried baby sardines and sansho pepper. There are various flavors.
