A sweet chestnut shop with a history of 150 years

A long-established store specializing in sweet chestnuts, established in Meiji 7 (1874). The chestnuts used are only "Kahokuritsu" produced in Hebei Province, China, which the fourth family head Hayashi himself purchased locally. Carefully selected chestnuts from Kahokuritsu, which has a firm flesh and a rich sweetness, are grilled thoroughly every day while adjusting the cooking method and the time of heating. Also, it is said that sweet chestnuts taste best when they are freshly baked, and they only sell the ones that are baked that day, which is also a focus since the establishment. Products that incorporate new ideas such as Amaguri-natto and Kuri-ice-monaka are also popular, while preserving the old tradition.
This photo shows the most popular, carefully-selected Oh-amaguri 300 g. Chestnuts 1.5 times the size of normal chestnuts are used, and the elegant sweetness spreads in your mouth.
