Museum of Yayoi Culture

大阪府立弥生文化博物館 vol.10【特集3】美術館

This is the only museum in Japan dedicated to the Yayoi period.

This museum is also called "Yayoi period textbook" because it exhibits valuable materials about the Yayoi period all over the country, not just local ruins. The exhibits are displayed in such a way that visitors can observe them at a close distance rather than through a glass case, and there is a corner where they can directly touch earthenware, so that they can feel the Yayoi period closely and familiarize themselves with it. Special and planned exhibitions, lectures and symposiums are held regularly three times a year in the special exhibition room, and museum concerts such as mini-galleries, flutes and pianos are held in the entrance hall on the first floor.
The picture is of a full-sized restored pit dwelling in the introduction zone of the first exhibition room "Yayoi Culture Seen by the Eye." We are welcomed by Yayoi people who eat.
