Miyakoh Botanic Garden Aoshima (Miyazaki Prefectural Aoshima Subtropical Botanical Garden)

Miyazaki City Aoshima Beach Center “Nagisa no Kouban”

The center is equipped with facilities such as showers and coin lockers, etc., so that visitors can enjoy the sea all year round. Aoshima Shrine

The entire island is designated as a special natural monument for its wild tropical and subtropical vegetation. The shrine is widely known as a shrine of marriage, with Hiko Hohodeminomikoto, known in mythology as the god of Fortunes of the Sea and the Fortunes of the Mountains, as its deity.

Horikiri Pass

This is a superb spot where you can enjoy a panoramic view of tropical phoenix trees, the “devil's washboard,” a corrugated rock that continues along the coastline, and the Pacific Ocean stretching all around. The view is so breathtaking that you will lose track of time. Nearby is “Michi-no-Eki Phoenix” where you can enjoy soft ice cream and other gourmet foods, making this one of the best driving courses in Miyazaki.

Miyazaki Jingu

This shrine is dedicated to Emperor Jinmu, the first emperor of Japan. Surrounded by a deep forest, the shrine grounds have a sacred atmosphere, and a long approach leads to the shrine gate and the main hall. Just strolling through the forest will leave you feeling purified in body and soul.

Kogu Shrine

This is the original shrine of Miyazaki Jingu Shrine. It is said to be the site of the imperial residence where Emperor Jinmu lived from the age of 15 until his expedition to the east at the age of 45.

Heiwadai Park Haniwa Garden

This park is located on a hill 60 meters above sea level, overlooking the Miyazaki city center. Visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers and scenery. In the park, there is a “haniwa-en” with an ancient atmosphere, and about 400 replicas of haniwa stand in the park.

Miyazaki Waterfront Park

Sun Marina Miyazaki, where yachts and cruisers dock, and Sun Beach Hitotsuba, the only man-made beach in the prefecture, are located here, where marine sports and barbecues can be enjoyed. It is also a great location for picnics and walking.

Florante Miyazaki

A botanical garden park where visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers and greenery. The expansive grounds include lawn areas and various types of gardens, where visitors can spend time surrounded by flowers and greenery.

English-Style Garden (International Seaside Entrance Plaza)

You can enjoy the English-style garden, which features four authentic gardens designed by a top British garden designer. This is a spot where you can take pictures that will make you feel as if you have wandered into a picture book. You can also enjoy authentic tea in the garden house.

Misogi Pond

Located in the Citizens' Forest of Awakigahara Forest Park. It is said to be the place where Izanaginomikoto, the god of the birth of the nation in Japanese mythology, held a purification ceremony to purify the land of Hades. Water lilies are at their best from May to September.

Eda Shrine

Japan's first married couple, Izanagi no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto, are enshrined here, and many visitors come to pray for a good marriage and childbirth. There is a sacred tree on the grounds that is said to have strong power.

Miyazaki City Phoenix Natural Zoo

This zoo keeps 1,000 animals of about 90 species. The flying flamingo show, elephant walks, petting with small animals, and animal introduction events are also very popular.
