The oldest kabuki theater in Japan that tells the history of the theater town
It began operating in the Edo period as one of the theaters approved by the Tokugawa shogunate. It was newly opened in 2018 after seismic reinforcement work. The annual "Yoshimi kaomise gala" held at the end of the year is famous.
The photograph shows an inside view that blends the art deco style with the folded-up coffered ceiling, a historical Japanese architectural style.
