The Ho-o-do hall depicted on the 10-yen coin is famous
In 1052, the villa of the powerful Fujiwara no Michinaga was converted into a temple by his son, Fujiwara no Yorimichi. The Ho-o-do and the museum depicted on the 10-yen coin are full of highlights.
The photo shows The Ho-o-do(Phoenix Hall), designed to evoke the Pure Land of Bliss. Its symmetrical wings are a defining feature.
