Kodai-ji Temple

Gorgeous weeping cherry blossoms and the highly artistic garden are must-see

It was founded in Keicho 11 (1606) by Kita no Mandokoro, the lawful wife of Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI. It has many important cultural properties such as the Kangetsudai that was moved from Fushimi-jo Castle and the mausoleum decorated with Kodaiji makie. The carefully designed gardens such as the Chisen Kaiyu style garden surrounding the Kaisan-do hall and the Karesansui garden called "Hashin-tei" in the hojo of the main hall are also a highlight.

  Kodaiji Tenjin Shrine was established as the Chinju-sha Shrine of Kodai-ji Temple after the transfer of Sugawara no Michizane, the enshrined deity of Tsunashiki Tenman-gu Shrine, which Nene worshipped.

  Kodai-ji Temple Hideyoshi & Nene Omikuji 800 yen

  Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI and his lawful wife, Nene no Omikuji. Hideyoshi holds a fan with the word 'Kaiun' written on it, while Nene is dressed in a nun costume and holds juzu. Both have 'Kodai-ji' written on their backs. Omikuji will be finished as soon as they are out of stock. There are also cute five-circle love mikuji.
