This century-old Kyomachiya, a registered cultural property, is home to a specialty restaurant serving Sukiyaki and Shabu-shabu courses made with Omi beef (A5 grade), one of Japan’s top three wagyu brands.
The photo shows premium A5-grade Omi beef, renowned for its melt-in-your-mouth texture. For both sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, choose from three courses—Pine, Bamboo, or Plum—based on the quantity of meat.
Course Menu Item: Omi Beef Aburi Yukke. Omi beef sirloin topped with rich, deep-red egg yolk.
The clay pot rice cooked to order is glossy with distinct grains, and the fragrant crispy rice at the bottom is exceptional.
A new restaurant, “Kyoto Niku No Hirosige Yaoya,” opened on Rokkaku-dori in July 2025. Nestled discreetly in the city center, this charming space offers a premium dining experience.
