Gyojya Bridge

行者橋 vol18

a tasteful scene to capture

A retro bridge over the Shirakawa River near Chion-in Temple. It is called Gyoja Bridge because people cross this bridge after training during the 1000 day pilgrimage 'Kyoto Omawari' of Enryaku-ji Temple on Mt. Hiei. It is also famous as a location for movies, dramas and magazines. The width is about 60 cm, and each person can barely walk. Watch your step as you cross the bridge.
