Bamboo grove path

竹林の道 vol16 グラビア

A tasteful walking course with Moso-chiku covering both sides

A 200 meter long bamboo covered path between Okochi Sanso Villa and Nonomiya Shrine. It is not clear when the bamboo started to grow, but it is assumed to have been around during the Heian period when there were villas for nobles. When the wind blows, bamboo leaves rub against each other, producing a smooth, refreshing sound.
