Japan's oldest public offi ce building.

This two-story Western-style building, completed in 1904, has a corridor around a courtyard. The interior features Japanese-style furnishings such as the coffered ceiling, which is also used in temple architecture. Currently, the former governor's office and the former council chambers are open to the public on limited days of the week.
