Kirishima Sakura Fruits Land

霧島さくらフルーツランド vol.9

Kagoshima's first winery, born in a fruit paradise

In 2020, Kagoshima Prefecture’s first wine brewery opened in “Kirishima Sakura Fruit Land,” where visitors can experience seasonal fruit picking and other activities. It took more than 15 years to realize the plan to grow grapes in a facility of about ten Tokyo Dome (45,000㎡) on a vast 420,000㎡ site and “use grapes harvested in the garden to make Kirishima wine”.

You can enjoy barbecue under the grape trees from July to October

土づくりからこだわる

Confronting the climate of Kagoshima, we are meticulously pursuing a fine soil

At the foot of the Kirishima mountain ranges there is a large temperature difference. This is where our farm lies and where we grow big and good grapes. With underground water, we have improved quality of the soil using our self-created compost to carefully grow our grapes.

35種類以上のぶどうを栽培Cultivating more than 35 breeds of grape

Bringing out the best grape traits

In our vineyard, we cultivate more than 35 breeds of grape, including, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon, as well as edible grapes. Grapes that perfectly match with wine are carefully selected depending on the year’s grape maturation.

自社栽培のぶどうを100%使用。霧島産ワインの魅力を全国に届けたいWe aim to deliver the allure of Kirishima-produced wine nationwide by utilizing 100% of our self-cultivated grapes.

Wine production from soil development through bottling

Striving for an organic winemaking process that minimizes additives to draw out the authentic taste of grapes to the fullest extent possible. Our range includes red (dry), white (dry), rosé, dessert wine (sweet), as well as various products such as mini bottles and barrel-aged red (dry). Available for purchase at our on-site shop and antenna shops within Kagoshima city.

Introducing a new staple in Kagoshima souvenirs: a dry sparkling wine.

An unfiltered, lightly effervescent wine bottled to capture the light, natural flavor of grapes. With fine bubbles and a refreshing grape aroma, it boasts a fresh acidity and a clear, fruity taste. Highly recommended even for those new to wine, as a souvenir from the southern paradise of Kagoshima.
