Light art spreading across the vast botanical garden
Art collective TeamLabo is developing a permanent nighttime museum at the Nagai Botanical Garden in Nagai Park. Digital technology and the botanical garden's natural environment will be in harmony to create light art in the botanical garden, which covers approximately 240,000 square meters and is home to approximately 1,200 species of plants. Visitors can freely walk around the garden, and the interactive elements, which change under the influence of visitors' behavior, blowing wind, and rain, are also a major attraction. The fantastic lights floating in the forest at night make visitors feel as if they have wandered into another world. The artwork, which changes with the seasons, is also noteworthy.
“Sculptures of Dissipative Birds in the Wind” is the symbolic work of this exhibition. It depicts the energy of birds flying around the sculptures.
