Fushimi-Inari Taisha

This is the head shrine of the approximately 3 Inari shrines throughout Japan. Statues of foxes, considered messengers of Inari Okami (the Inari deity), can be seen throughout the grounds, and the shrine is bustling with worshippers throughout the year praying for business prosperity and family safety. Be sure to also try the "mountain pilgrimage," which involves visiting various shrines up to the summit of Mount Inari.
The "Mountain Pilgrimage" is a challenging course of 4km that takes about 2 hours to complete, so be prepared before you go.
