Around Kinkakuji Temple
It is said to bring good fortune in warding off evil, academic success, and the performing arts. There is also a festival on the 25th of every month.
Founded in 947, this shrine is the head shrine of the approximately 12000 Tenmangu shrines across the country. It enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. In Kyoto, it is affectionately known as "Tenjin-sama," and is worshipped primarily as the god of academics, performing arts, and protection from evil.
The photo shows the green maples of the Odoi Historic Site, which is open to the public during the autumn foliage season. The contrast with the vermilion Uguisu Bridge over the Kamiya River is beautiful.
