Shorinji Temple

Bishamondo Temple will be opened to the public to coincide with the autumn foliage season.

This is a sub-temple of Tofuku-ji Temple. Normally, the main hall and Bishamondo hall are not open to the public, but special viewings are available in the new year and autumn, and for groups of 10 or more. Zen meditation and sutra copying experiences, which are easy for first-timers to participate in, and the beautiful flower arrangements in the water basin are popular attractions.

The temple grounds are open to visitors. The maple trees near the main hall are a brilliant red.

  Every year, the Bishamondo Hall is opened to the public and the statue of Bishamonten is unveiled in the autumn (mid-November to mid-December) and during the New Year.
