Hexagonal Hall Chohoji Temple

The name comes from the shape of the main hall. The cute pigeon fortune slips are also famous.

This temple is said to have been founded by Prince Shotoku. Its official name is Shiunzan Chohoji Temple, but it has come to be known affectionately as the "Rokkakudo" (Rokkaku Hall) because the main hall is hexagonal. The temple's popular pigeon fortune telling machines, which are based on pigeons, a symbol of happiness, gather at the temple. The unusual hexagonal main hall was rebuilt in 10.
