Mikane Shrine

A popular shrine that grants blessings for financial luck

The main deity is Kanayamahiko-no-Mikoto, who protects metals, mines and minerals. Located near Kamaza-dori, where metalworkers once gathered, and Ryogaemachi-dori, where gold coins were minted, the shrine has also been revered by people involved in metalworking. Today, it is known nationwide as a rare god of money, and worshippers gather here to pray for a variety of money-related wishes, such as increased financial luck, good fortune, business development and winning the lottery. The gorgeous, shining golden torii gate is a symbol of the area, and the golden bell rope at the main shrine is a striking sight.

The photo shows a striking golden torii gate in a residential area just a short distance from Nijo Castle. It is painted with a color that does not fade even outdoors, and welcomes visitors with its golden glow.

The bell rope in the main hall also shines golden. It was specially made and donated by tassel twister Norio Sakata.

An amulet that can hold lottery tickets, horse racing tickets, etc.
Money luck charm card 500 yen
It is a card-shaped charm that can be carried in a mobile phone case, wallet, etc. The shining golden card is decorated with the sacred ginkgo tree, and is said to bring good fortune.
Ginkgo Ema 500 yen
A golden votive plaque in the shape of a leaf from the sacred ginkgo tree. Ginkgo leaves are said to be very auspicious because they "widen at the end."
