Pray for beauty at a temple associated with the Imperial family
The head temple of the Sennyu-ji branch of the Shingon sect. Its predecessor was Senyu-ji Temple, founded in 855. It was named "Sennyu-ji" because a clear spring gushed forth from a corner of the temple grounds. It is also known as "Go-tera" (Imperial Temple) because it is the family temple of the Imperial family. It houses a statue of Yang Guifei Kannon, which is said to have been brought back from the Southern Song dynasty.
