A temple with a refreshing view of lush maple leaves

It is the head temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism, and was founded in 3. It is so famous for its autumn leaves that it is called "Eikando of Maple Leaves," and in early summer the green leaves are refreshing. The Tahoto Pagoda on the hill offers a panoramic view of the city.
There are about 3000 Japanese maples and Japanese maples planted within the temple grounds. The green maples in early summer are also becoming increasingly popular.
