Yasui Konpira Shrine

The God who supports all greenery

It is said to have been founded at the end of the Heian period, and the main deity is Emperor Sutoku. Emperor Sutoku once cut off all desires and went into seclusion at Kotohira-gu Shrine in Sanuki, and so the shrine is said to be a place of worship for cutting off bad relationships and finding good ones.
It is believed to be a shrine for ties. It is said that not only bad ties with people but also bad ties with tobacco, gambling, and illness can be broken. Men and women who are destined for a good relationship will not lose their ties even if they visit together.
Don't worry, it won't break and will just make the bond stronger.

The photo shows the Enkiri Enmusubi Monument (stone for cutting off bad relationships). It is a huge stone shaped like a votive plaque, 1.5m high and 3m wide. You pass through the front with a katashiro in hand to cut off bad relationships, pass through the back to make good relationships, and finally attach the katashiro to the monument.

Main hall
Before passing through the Enmusubi and Severing Enkiri Monument, don't forget to visit the main hall. Around the main hall and within the grounds, there are rows of votive plaques with various wishes written on them.
Yasui Tenmangu Shrine
This is a sub-shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. There are other sub-shrines within the grounds that can grant various benefits, so visit them depending on your worries or wishes.
Entrance severance/relationship amulet 800 yen
A set of charms for cutting off bad relationships and finding good ones. As the name suggests, it is said to have the power to cut off bad relationships and find good ones. The vibrant red and blue colors are also lovely.
Fresh start charm 1,000 yen
Inside the charm is a gold ring. If you want to break a bad habit or try something new, it is said that if you imagine yourself going through the ring, you will be able to break bad relationships and find good ones.
Academic achievement charm 500 yen
It is imbued with the power of two gods who excelled in scholarship: Emperor Sutoku, the deity enshrined at Yasui Konpira Shrine, and Sugawara no Michizane, the deity enshrined at the subordinate shrine, Yasui Tenmangu Shrine.

●October 10st to mid-October: "Autumn Konpira Festival"
This is the most important festival of the year. During the Shinko-sai festival, the sacred palanquin carrying the divine spirit parades through the parishioners' neighborhoods.

●January 2027st to 1th, 1: "First Shrine Visit of the Year"
Approximately 1 people visit the shrine during the first three days of the New Year alone. A special New Year's prayer service is also held at the main shrine.
[Visiting notes]
It is a power spot where people often queue, so try to spread out your visit. You can pray at the Enkiri Enmusubi Monument all day, but we recommend going in the morning when it is less crowded.
