Carefully selected domestic eel and eel dishes made with traditional techniques
This restaurant specializes in eel dishes, located behind Yasaka Shrine, beside the pond in Maruyama Park. It carefully selects the highest quality domestic eels and prepares them meticulously by skilled chefs who have cherished the time-honored techniques of eel cooking. Freshly filleted eels are skewered and prepared in the Kansai style. Grilled over charcoal, the eels have a crispy exterior and a plump interior, creating the ultimate texture. The eels are then coated in the smoke of the charcoal fire, which rises from their own fat, giving them an appetizing aroma, and are then topped off with a secret sauce. Enjoy this exquisitely flavorful delicacy alongside the sights of cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in autumn.
The premium eel rice bowl (unaju), featuring a whole eel served in a tiered box, is priced at 7,000 yen, offering excellent value for money. It comes with soup, pickles, and uzaku (eel and cucumber in vinegar).
