Kiyomizu-dera Temple vol.23 area

A renowned temple representing Kyoto, preserving 1200 years of history and nature.

It is said that the temple was founded in 778 by the monk Enchin and rebuilt in 798 by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro. In addition to the main hall, famous for its "Kiyomizu Stage," there are many other sights to see, including the Niomon Gate, the three-story pagoda, and the Otowa Waterfall.
The main hall and stage, enveloped in vibrant red autumn leaves, offer a unique Kyoto autumn experience. (Photo courtesy of Kiyomizu-dera Temple)
