Bamboo craft experience taught by a craftsman

This Arashiyama bamboo craft specialty shop is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. They offer traditional bamboo crafts that have taken root in Kyoto life, such as tea whisks for the tea ceremony and flower vases for flower arrangement, as well as handmade folk crafts that make use of the beautiful shapes and flexibility of bamboo. They also offer a hands-on experience menu that is perfect for creating memories of your trip to Kyoto or for summer vacation independent research projects, with everything from easy-to-make items even for children, such as windmills and water guns, to more professional items such as hand-woven bamboo four-story sea wave baskets, stylish necklaces, and art frames. Beginners can feel at ease as they will be carefully taught by bamboo craftsmen. If there are openings in the shop, you can experience the experience without making a reservation.
