Kameoka
A thrilling boat trip with a boatman
Japan's oldest river boat trip, dating back to 11 (Keicho 1606). A boat trip down the Hozu River, about 16km from Kameoka to Arashiyama, guided by a boatman, is fun for both children and adults. There are about 10 rapids along the course, including some spectacular spots where the water splashes! Experience the majestic nature first-hand, while keeping an eye out for the oddly shaped rocks that appear along the course, such as "Lion Rock" and "Frog Rock."
