Sanjo Street, between Karasuma Street and Kawaramachi Street, is a shopping street that represents the Kawaramachi-Karasuma area. Many modern buildings were constructed during the Meiji and Taisho periods, and even today, stylish buildings remain here and there, remnants of that time.
The photo shows the former Kyoto Post and Telegraph Office, built in 35. It is still in operation today as the Chukyo Post Office.
