Ichikikushikino City
There is also a museum where you can learn about the history of Kushikino Gold Mine.
Two Shochu distilleries are connecting the history
Located at the site of the Kushikino Gold Mine, which boasted the largest gold production in Japan, Kinzangura is the only place in Kagoshima where shochu is made by storing it inside a mine. Take a trolley ride through the underground mine and see the brewing storehouse and storage facility. Take home some shochu brewed with the legendary golden koji, or sake that was created to evolve authentic shochu.
